In his first couple of months on the job, Urban has turned one ND recruit, and might take some more that we are after this year. He will definite be a formidable pain in our side for years to come. The only way to compete with this guy is for ND to win and have very successful seasons. This success needs to start next year or we will be way behind him.
Add in successful programs at MSU, Wisconson, and Stanford and ND recruiting may face even more stiff competition than usual. So, as said above, the winning needs to start, now !
ND can also schedule OSU and beat them. Forget about out recruiting them. As long as Urban is there, OSU will finish no lower than 5th in recruiting. He is already going to get Jaylon Smith and Jalin Marshall.
Two things will stop Urbie
1. BIG- They're not going to let him get away with the sh!t he did at FU....
2. Stress- He thought FU was stressful just wait until they lose a few games in Columbus....

Yes, I think the staff knows that success on the field now will dictate alot that goes on in the recruiting battles. With respect to 2013, I think it is a fools errand to try and secure a "commitment" from a recruit. Just continue to build and nuture the relationship with the player/coach/region steadily over time and that side will work out as it should. Commitments a year in advance mean little to nothing.
But what they have more control of is how they prepare the players that are there to be successful on the field, especially in the marquee games...success builds success
Stop with the Urban "lovefest". He is an arrogant putz. You or I could win at FLA. Let's see what he does at OSU before we crown him.

PLEASE atleast try to quit cannonizing the urban liar. I, for one, am sick of it already. Bozo the Clown, Mickey Mouse, Tressel or Fickell would have gotten 95% of the same players. osu showed their true colors by hiring an "on-the-field" coach who cares nothing about the shenanigans his players pull off. Hiring him was equal to Penn State hiring Jeffrey Dahmer. No answer to the ethical and moral problems. I live in NE Ohio and see tons of talent slurping kool-aid like they're coming off the desert. GIVE IT UP about the urban liar. We are ND!!!!!!

POTW: 1/3/11- 1/9/11, 6/20/11-6/26/11
Jaylon Smith is not a O$U lock like Marshall is. I guarantee we fight tooth and nail for him and he at least considers ND.
