S Quin Blanding – #7 overall/#1 S – 6’2”/200 lbs. – Virginia Beach, VA – Offered – Probability: Low
-Was a long shot to start with. He will decide from four of which he's only visited two.
DT Bryan Mone – #114 overall/#8 SDE – 6’4”/315 lbs. – Salt Lake City, UT – No Offer – Probability: Low
-He has Michigan as his heavy favorite, but when a kid is 6’4”/315 and still listed as a DE you have to take notice. He could be a great addition to a 3-4 team. Weird, Notre Dame runs a 3-4.
Added to Part Two:
WR Malachi Dupre – #59 overall/#6 WR – 6’2”/190 lbs. – New Orleans, LA – Offered – Probability: Low
-A product of perennial powerhouse John Curtis HS that I really, really, really like. While kids from the South, especially Louisiana, are tough pulls, I am going to leave him on the list until he signs because I like him that much. He may just be my Gunner Kiel of the 2014 class.
WR Jalen Harvey – #156 overall/#19 WR – 6’1”/175 lbs. – El Cerrito, CA – No Offer – Probability: Low
WR Johnnie Dixon – #225 overall/#26 WR – 5’10”/187 lbs. – Palm Beach Garden, FL – Offered – Probability: Low
DE Dewayne Hendrix – #180 overall /#14 SDE – 6’5”/251 lbs. – O’Fallon, IL – No Offer – Probability: Low
-A Midwest kid. A big DE who will grow into the 3-4 DE position very quickly. I’m surprised he isn’t drawing more interest from us given his measurables.
DT Josh Frazier – #48 overall/#5 DT – 6’3”/324 lbs. – Springdale, AR – Offered – Probability: Low
-Top player in Arkansas. He’s tailor-made to play the 3-4 NT. A tough pull from the South, but worth the pursuit.
CB Kyle Gibson – #228 overall/#17 CB – 6’1”/175 lbs. – Seffner, FL – No Offer – Probability: Low
-While not highly rated (yet), he goes to Armwood HS. All they do is put high-level talent in division one football. He’s one to watch as well.

RB Ish Witter – NR – 5’8”/190 lbs. – Tampa, FL – No Offer – Probability: Low
- I doubt he ever is even in the picture for the Irish, but I added him because he is a kid I coached at Alonso HS and he was running by people as a freshman and not just nobodies, but quality players who are now playing division one. He was one of those kids you look at and know he is going to be a good one.
OG Corey Martinez – #16 OG – 6’3”/295 lbs. – Tampa, FL – Offered – Probability: Low
OC Brian Allen – #2 OC – 6’2”/273 lbs. – Hinsdale, IL – No Offer – Probability: Low/Medium

DT Craig Evans – #140 overall/#10 DT – 6’3”/305 lbs. – Sun Prairie, WI – No Offer – Probability: Low
-Looks like Louis Nix III. Built like Louis Nix III. If he can play like him, he needs to be Irish.
DT Adam Torres – #29 DT – 6’5”/270 lbs. – Lake Mary, FL – No Offer – Probability: Low
OLB KeShun Freeman – NR – 6’2”/215 lbs. – Hogansville, GA – No Offer – Probability: Low

For the gurus on the board my main concern for this class is dline and ILB. (I do not care when they commit as long as we fill needs we have on singing day.) Who are the guys that you think we will end up with? Hoping 2-3 more Dline and 2 Ilb. I assume we fill the needs with some talented players.
Gringo Mafia Strength Coach
I'm no guru, but my thoughts are that we are off to a good start with Jay Hayes on the DL. I suspect we will take 4 or so on the DL. I feel we are in good shape at ILB. I think Greer Martini has the versatility to play inside or outside, but I ultimately feel he'll end up inside. I also think we will end up with Nyles Morgan on the inside (who is high on ND currently) and that will be that.
I would like to see us land some combination of Malik McDowell, Jay Hayes, and then two of Andrew Trumbetti, Andrew Williams, and Jesse Aniebonam on the DL and then Martini and Morgan at ILB. Aniebonam is a teammate of OG/DT Sam Mustipher so if he commits, I think we get Aniebonam too. Williams is Rochell's HS teammate and while I feel good about him, I don't feel quite as good as I did a month or two again. Trumbetti is and has been very high on ND. McDowell is a big, talented kid out of Michigan. It will come down to the Michigan schools and ND I believe. Being able to show McDowell Notre Dame's campus and how the Irish use Tuitt should be able to (hopefully) put us over the top.
McDowell is the guy I think I want most on the defensive side. Measurables make him an obvious want, but stealing a top player out of Michigan would make him a favorite of mine.
Glad to hear that Greer could shift inside. I like having one there already. And glad to hear we are doing so well with Morgan, always assumed we were trailing. He is a player and an athlete inside.
Man ..do you ever sleep?
Pretty sure he is recruited a will LB.
Are you talking about Greer? I could see that. A fill in for Fox, with a little more nasty. Although I think Fox has been solid the last couple years.
yup.... I saw one of his youtube highlights from sophomore year and he was playing the Will position. Seems to move well in space. Considering he had some interceptions on the video, Greer seems to have good hands/ball skills. Not sure how fast he is. Unless the guy is noticeably faster than everyone else, I have a hard time evaluating a prospects speed on youtube highlights.
Agreed Nigel. I do like his ball skills and instincts already. When I watch him, he reminds me of former Ohio St. LB James Laurinaitis. Not a spectacular athlete, but a very good, very smart football player. Sideline to sideline, not afraid to attack the line and hit gaps, good when dropping into coverage.
Just throwing this out there, but are any of you at all interested in 2015? I know we just started 2014, but I like to be proactive.
OG Mason Cole – #62 overall/#4 OG – 6’4”/285 lbs. – Tarpon Springs, FL – Offered – Probability: Committed to Michigan
-Usually to get OG’s you have to convert OT’s. This year’s class seems to have born guards and it’s going to be great for their transition to college. Cole would be a great get for the Irish. Include East Lake teammate Artavis Scott and this duo is a home run.
