Wow. That's pretty crazy. Broken femurs are usually reserved for high velocity accidents. Depending on where the fracture is (ie not within a joint or at a tendon attachment), a broken femur is indeed a "better" injury long term than an ACL or a quad tendon.
Bones heal. That would explain the amount of pain he was in though. Poor kid
Dad confirms the Femur injury.. Will be a year before he is back to full strength. The first Red Shirt of the class. Bones heal stronger than pre-injury. Torii will be fine and ready to contribute in '14.
