From what I've gauged in the last month, 8-4 seems to be the most likely pick of what this year's regular season record will be for Notre Dame, with 10-2 as the ceiling.
With that in mind, if there was a genie in the bottle who said he can guarantee you a 9-3 regular season this year — while not telling you who the wins and losses are to and when or what the bowl destination is — would you be willing to be sign up for it? Just curious.
The only caveat for me is that it would have to include a bowl win. As Gorstew said, "Double digits or bust."
9-3 regular season? Yes.
January bowl win? Yes.
No. I want this team to earn what they get one way or the other. If they deserve to be 0-12 or 12-0 that's what they'll get. BUT, if the genie was to guarantee a 13-0 season as the NC I'd be all over that. Talk to her again Lou, see what you guys can work out

8-4 is the most likely outcome so I'd take 9-3 in a New York minute.
I would still say there's a 90% likelihood that we end up being 8-4...doesn't matter how we get there...we just will.
Maybe in October but not on July 4th as I await the verbal of another big name recruit, the arrival of my 160 page preview magazine and the emergence of (Pick whoever you want) Golson/Kiel/Hendrix/Reese to lead us to 12-0! Happy Fourth! Go IRISH!
I'd say yes, only because this schedule is brutal we have loads of downside if things get off to a bad start.
I would absolutely take a 9-3 regular season. The only stipulation would be a victory over scUM.
Can't sign up for 9-3. I have to hold out for at least 10-2 because that means we got a signature win against OU, Mich or USC.
10wins or bust year. Everyone complains about how tough the schedule is, but in all actuality we have more talent then every team on that schedule other than USC. We just need to solidify the QB situation. Either this team will rise up the challenge of a tough schedule and BK will show the kind of coach he really is or this team will barely tread water...11-1, 10-2 or 7-5, 6-6 is what i see. It's time to stop settling for mediocrity.

In a heartbeat! Seeing how I think 7-6 is more likely..
I'd take 9-3. With this schedule it would put us in a BCS bowl game. And I think we would get our BCS bowl win. 10-3 with BCS win would be a great next step. But, of course, better than that would be . . . . . better.
I'd take that in a minute without having to think about it. It would be our best record in 6 years while playing a green secondary and possibly a first year starter at QB.
My luck w/the Irish 20-6...GO IRISH!!!
