offensive player of the year

  • this is a no-brainer, as far as I am concerned. gotta love the efforts from CW and TR. and, of course - TE (a classic tight end). yet, for me, it has to be EG. yes, the guy had some up and down moments. BUT, BUT, BUT..... he was able to persevere and get his head screwed on straight after throwing a pic against Pitt. he was nearly perfect vs. Oklahoma (after he had two weeks to prep care of BK purposely keeping him out of the BYU game even though BK virtually admitted after that game that there was no need to keep EG out). we all know that BK bought EG time to prep for OU by keeping him out. this kid is the most exciting offensive player ND has had, since the Rocket. AND, AND, AND.... I loved BQ and The Shark. EG is only beginning to write his prolific story at ND.

having said all that, I never wavered in my support of EG. I did break a remote throwing it down the stairs when he tossed that pick against Pitt, shut the TV off, cursed up a storm, BUT "watched" on Yahoo as the Irish rallied. my last remnants of sanity almost went out the door that game, but I was still behind the kid because he is so young, yet he is the drive behind the Irish offense.

btw - kudos to Reese for being the consummate team player.thumbsup
