FSU/VaTech vis-a-vis Golson

  • Watching the QB play in last night's FSU/VaTech game, I began to compare EJ Manuel and Logan Thomas to Everett Golson. I'm no QB coach, but this armchair QB thinks Golson stacks up quite nicely...in his first year of play! Logan Thomas made some brutal reads and missed some easy tosses for a multi-yr player. Likewise, EJ Manuel is talented but far too inconsistent for a multi-yr player. Golson will be a better QB by mid-season next year than Manuel/Thomas at any point in their respective careers.

    Thoughts?

  • I simply cannot fathom how EJ Manuel and Logan Thomas are considered great NFL prospects, let alone TOP TEN picks. It's almost like scouts don't watch film and are simply busy drooling over measurables. Mark my words, neither will become remotely functional in the NFL. Bad throws, terrible turnovers, horrendous losses. But hey, they are 6'5" with rocket arms! I am likely being a little harsh on Manuel, but he still does not impress me for being a 5*, nationally renowned QB. I would not trade Everett Golson for either player for a single game.
