More like SEC offensive player of the year

A few posts I want to comment on.. But being in the extremely sober state that I currently am will probably inhibit me from doing so.

First to the OP. I showed your post to my Gf (who is by no means a ND or sports fan) and she teared up. +1 for helping me convert her to being an Irish fanatic.

2nd to the Larry fitz comment. The dude was by far and above the best player in FBS. But just like the award should've gone to Manti, it went to the best player on the best team in the regular season.

With that being said... The award is a joke. Yeah, if another Irish player wins it in the future I'll be obnoxious and let everyone know that I root for the best team with the best player, but this award has become an offensive popularity contest.

Like Sapp tweeted earlier about deleting tweets regarding the award, words cannot explain the amount of frustration occurring at the moment. Now, more than ever, should a college football fan realize that the sport has become a (for lack of a better word) tool for propaganda. ESPN determined this winner and without their coverage, "Johnny Football" would not be holding that trophy.

Btw, as I've explained to at least 5 individuals, he's not a freshman. Johnny's an academic sophomore.

To start-- Which one of your posts haven't you gone after another poster? And if you're going to come after me, at least get your story straight. I never said ESPN promotes Johnny Football OVER ND. I said "without their coverage" he doesn't win. For example, they had multiple highlights and segments in primetime of the guy attempting... and missing an extra point. That was on their primary network. Who knows how long ESPN2 had Skip and whoever debating about him.

They have enough of an offense to play for the title don't they!!

All the talk about the award is driven by the media. I can't count how many commercials I saw about the award or how many times I had to watch the awkward posing and forced conversation by the three of the finalists. It was just about as bad as those dumba$$ Clay Matthews commercials for Zaxby's.

I too am very glad it's over with. I would have been very happy that Manti won had the voters selected him but this has become nothing but a popularity contest.
