This kid announcing for ND could further jump start some others especially on the Def side of the ball. It would be huge if he do so.

Would be huge for momentum in this class. Help Rochell make his decision as well as a few of the other backers who would only benefit from playing with a guy like Smith. I would love this.

Actually many people still think he holds off so he can take the visit to the Michigan/Air Force game to watch his brother play but.....the point is it could be a very very good weekend on the defensive front. This could set the tone for other elite defensive targets like Hargreaves, Alexander, McQuay, etc.

Sooo nervous. Went to a yard sale today & had to be dragged out by wife talking to a guy with ND stuff all in his garage. We were talking about the effect jaylon could have on our recruiting class.

I don't understand this package deal of Smith and Rochell that everyone is mentioning. Their is no position pressure between these two players since they are not filling the same spot. Can somebody please explain?

Not pressure at all. Just the fact that Rochelle will see another very highly rated recruit commit just before or during his visit. I think seeing how strong a class is especially another highly rated recruit who will be playing next to you or right behind you. I think it helps Rochelle say damn I would like to be part of this IrishMafia13 class. Because we are coming in as a family.

There is no pressure just that Rochelle has stated he's 99.2% sure he's headed to ND, he wants them to be his last official visit, etc. It's just saying that an elite talent like Jaylon Smith making it official for the Irish today could push Rochelle to 100% ND since elite players want to play with elite players.

Haha. That's awesome.. I wish I could do that here..
Smith would have a profound impact on this class. His relationships with other big-name players such as Hargreaves, Anzalone, Hutchings and Randolph, etc. could take our class from great to discussion of best we've ever had.. If you look at our OL haul already, which I think is one of the best five i've ever seen in a class, to the possibilities at LB and man, I can't stop smiling thinking about the possibilities.

NDGuy I agree completely. Jaylon would have me really excited for the rest of this class. My brother-in-law is a huge buckeye fan and he conceded this one months ago. We were just texting and I really hope he is Irish.

You and I both.. He has been very vocal throughout the entire process and seems to be developing relationships with a lot of the other elite players. We get a guy like JS9 and things change in a hurry (for the better though!)
