We won't receive anything from Notre Dame until spring practice opens March 20, and even then I'm not sure if they will have any updated heights and weights.
With his frame, I have some doubts about whether Golson will ever be more than 200 pounds (Tony Rice was remarkably durable at 6-1, 200), but I could see him in the 190-195 pound range by August. That would seem to be a pretty good and reasonable progression.

No, I should be clearer. I can't see him at 200. I don't doubt he was more in the 175-180 range last year, and I don't know if he will get more than 190. Growth spurts are hard to project. I think Kelly was speaking toward building "more armor" around Golson, not necessarily in weight but just in overall strength to be able to deal with the pounding a QB might take, especially if he is going to be running some read option.

Makes me wonder if we'll ever see a Hendrix or Kiel package once they have mastered the playbook in which they will be given more of a chance to execute designed running plays. Both of are qualified passers too, so it's not like running the wildcat and becoming one dimensional out of that formation.
