  • I'm trying to compile a list of the most memorable moments of the 2011 NFL season that involved Notre Dame players. I'm also putting together a list of best individual games. I'd love to get some feedback from our subscribers. Thanks.

  • Justin Tuck, Giants, Superbowl. That is all.

  • Come on, PB, that one's easy. biggrin

    Wes Morgan

  • Kyle Rudolph with a one handed TD catch that made #1 on Sportcenter top 10.

    ATX ND

  • How about Tate's donut-gate? Or was that two years ago? Wes, is this a paying gig? Lol!!

As a Giants fan, that's the only one i need!!

ATX has a good one there with Rudolph. The only other ones I can think of off the top of my head are Brian Smith's sack/forced fumble vs. Green Bay and Hughes 2 touchdowns in 1 game, but both of those were preseason.

  • *Joe Montana to Dwight Clark vs. Dallas in the NFC Championship Game
*Joe Montana to John Taylor vs Cincy in the Super Bowl
(could probably write an entire book about Montana and his memorable NFL moments)

*Bettis finally getting his Super Bowl Ring
*Could also add the infamous Thanksgiving OT coin toss with Bettis which lead to a change in how they do coin tosses now.

*Ricky Watters' 3 TDs vs San Diego in Super Bowl (extremely underrated game)

*Mark Bavaro's TD catch vs. Denver in the Super Bowl
*His catch against the 49ers where he carried half the defense on his back for a 1st down.
*He also broke his jaw in a game and had his mouth wired shut but came back in the game to catch the winning TD (I think it was the winning TD)

*Lawrence Taylor breaking Joe Theismann's leg on Monday Night Football

*Paul Hornung's season where he set the record for points scored in a season (not sure what year)

*The simple fact that Rocky Bleier made it in the NFL let alone

*Dave Casper and the infamous "Holy Roller Play"

I read it. I was alluding to the plays that were listed, not individual seasons.

Sorry, IrishBob, this assignment does not come with pay. And the maple bar incident was in 2010.

  • Wes, in regards to last year, other than Tuck winning the Super Bowl, i can't think of any good moments from ND alum, lol. Not a good sign.

There certainly weren't a ton of great moments. Fasano had a two-touchdown game for Miami, which might have only been the second of his career. I'd have to do some more digging. Grant had a couple good games with Green Bay despite splitting carries all year.
