How did you become a fan?

  • Born in South Bend and watched our last national championship with my mom when I was 3 weeks old. Live and go to school in SC now but haven't missed watching a game since the Davies era.

  • I had no choice in the matter!!!

My father graduated in 1928, and he was there with the Four Horsemenclover

I began listening to the Irish as a young boy with my father who was a fanatic...I guess it rubbed off on me...

I attended ND from 59 through 63..If Kurarach didn't deter me from being a fan nothing will..

My wife and are both fans (both Irish catholic) I'm 71...GO IRISHcoffee

Born and raised in south bend. One grandfather was a bricklayer on the Stadium and numerous buildings on the campus. Grandma rented rooms to ND students and in 1947 she rented a room to a football manager. He took the little 7 year old kid from across the street to practice and introduced me to Frank Leahy. God I thought I died and was in heaven, Stayed for the whole practice, chatted with the players and everyone connected with that team made a 7 year old kid feel very very important.

So needless to say I was hooked.

In high school I went with a girl of the Catholic faith who went to the grotto on a regular basis. The first time I went there I was ionntotal awe. And have been since then.

Well, you asked for my reasons and there they are. I am 72 years old and still hooked on the Irish and will be until my last breath is taken.

God Bless Notre Dame and God Bless all of you!!!!!

Naples you have to be the classiest guy around here. It is a privelage to be aquainted with you

  • Grew up in the northeast. "Back in the day" we only had three channels. So the choice on Saturday for football was either Syracuse or ND. My brother liked Syracuse so I naturally HAD to choose the "other" team that was on!

  • My story my be lame, but I became an Irish fan from watching Rudy as a child. I live in Columbus, OH and my family is all Buckeye fans. But I always liked the ND colors better, I think Navy Blue is the perfect football color, and the tradition was amazing. Rudy put it over the top for me. Go Irish!
