How many of you?

  • Be honest even if only with yourself.
How many of you, of us, felt that Notre Dame football would be say.....8-1. 7-2. or perhaps 6-3 at this point and not 9-0?
How many felt a 8-4. 9-3 season would be a big stepping stone for 2013? How many honestly felt that this team would be able to erase deficits of more than say a field goal?
How many felt the defense would be this good when this past spring a certain defensive player (he who shall not be named) chose to go back to Florida?

I am honest when I say that I never put a number on the win loss column in my predictions but am also honest when I say that I did not expect the team to be so cohesive. I am impressed with how Kelly and Co. have molded this team. Kudos to all players and coaches. Whether or not the team goes undefeated I am proud to be a ND fan today and everyday. Go Irish!

  • I knew Kelly had this team on the right track by building the defense, but I never thought that we would be this good! Not with all the backup players in the secondary. Bob Diaco has done a fantastic job with this defense and with the "mob13" recruiting class coming in it will only get better! Return to glory!! GO IRISH!!

I had 8-4 and 9-4 after the bowl game in preseason. And on their respective game days, I thought we'd lose in East Lansing, was TERRIFIED pre Stanford and thinking 50-50, and also thought Oklahoma might hand it to us.

Never thought we'd be undefeated or even just 1 loss to this point.

  • If I'm being honest at the beginning of the season at this point 6-3 would have been a near best case scenario. So 9 - 0 is unfathomable to me, what a great year.

No down-vote please - thank you! No down-vote por favor, gracias ! Gringo Mafia ~ amigo el número cuatro

  • I concur, Diaco has done an amazing job with playing to the strengths of the secondary.

  • In the beginning of the year i thought we would be about 8-4 this year. I am thrilled that i was wrong.

  • They continue to amaze me with their cohesive team effort. No one on this team comes across as an "I am the face of this team" in how they carry themselves.

  • I had 9-4 most likely. OK, MSU and USC worried me, especially after the lost of Lo Wood and Austin Collinsworth in the secondary.

  • I was prepared for an 8-4 regular season, with 9-3 being a pleasant surprise.

  • This team has already far surpassed my expectations. I remember thinking to myself that we could hopefully win 9-10 games this year. I was one of the more optimistic ones, but I felt there was no way we would be 10-0 at this point. Kudos to this awesome team and our great coaching staff for giving us fans the one thing we have all missed these past several years; A chance to win it all! I'm so proud of our team!

  • Figured we would lose to USC, Oklahoma, one between Michigan/MSU, and one between Stanford/BYU and go 8-4. Never thought in a million years we'd beat Oklahoma on the road.

  • I was one of the skeptics who thought this schedule and a new QB would bring about a 7-5 record at the end of the year. No way did I think we would be here. Not only that, I also thought anyone predicting 9-3 or better was just picking from their heart and not their brain. I still think that. I don't think were any indicators coming into this year, especially against this schedule, that we would have a better record than the year previous.

  • Ace, you know how I think. Every year undefeated. If I think ND is going to lose a game why watch? Why watch your team lose? Might as well rake leaves. That's just me. Don't have anything against anyone else. It's not kook-aid, it's not a dreamer mentality, it's just the way I view it. The game isn't played on paper and I truly believe ND can win every game.
