If You Could Have Only 1 Back — Eifert Or Te'o?

Last year at this time Michael Floyd and Kyle Rudolph had decisions to make about whether to turn pro or return for their senior years. At the time my feeling was, Eifert had proven he could be a first-rate TE to replace Rudolph, but losing Floyd would be a far more pronounced setback.
How about this year between Eifert and linebacker Manti Te'o? I don't think Ben Koyack or Alex Welch right now are nearly prepared as Eifert was to step in ... but Te'o is the heart of that defense that will be rebuilding on the back end. I'd hate to see the offense with neither Floyd or Eifert as a top target, but no Te'o seems a tad more unsettling to me because ND does have an excellent history of developing TEs.
If you could have only one of the two back, who would you select?

Both gone. Te'o may do his mission. If not, gone to "greener pastures". When Eifert has his sit down with Kyle, case closed. The better question, will Bob D. stay?

For all the people saying that were good at the tight end position look at our depth.
2012
#18 so. off season should help his dismal blocking, and 1 catch 5 yards for 2011.
#82 jr. constantly injured maybe kicks the injury bug.
#88 sr. football career possibly over if rumors are true.
So how are we safe to such a vital position especially if a stud doesn't drop in our laps this recruiting cycle? Plus like the experts always say "TE is a young QB best friend" we need depth there.

That is a no brainer. Te'o without a doubt. We desperately need his speed and leadership on defense. We can replace Eifert with Koyack. I think Koyack will be better than Rudolph and Eifert.

Te'o all day long. Bigger void in the middle of that D w/o him. Hopefully with Hendrix or Golson, we will using a lot of 4 wide if Eifert is gone. Plus, the young TEs are talented and will progress.
