I think they're both right... You need top-tier talent to win the big games, but you need hungry players to do it consistently. I'd rather see us with 3- and 4-star athletes working their butts off and feeding off the desire to excel at everything than have a bunch of 4- and 5-star prima donnas snagging some wins by sheer talent and being complacent about everything, feeding into the attitude of entitlement longterm and breeding a culture where success is given rather than earned. And I'm not making comments on any particular athlete or situation when I say that. Team sports are supposed to teach teamwork and success based on the effort you put in, not individual accolades just because you're naturally more gifted. If we can get guys like Lynch and Tuitt and Nix and Te'o who are not only major individual talents but also don't want to settle for anything less than the absolute best, then not only will the team be better, but the university will be better. Those are the kinds of kids you need on a team and in the world period. Bravo to Nix for putting it out there in plain terms.

This reminds me of something my college math prof told our class....."If you give me the choice between hiring the lazy genius or the the guy of avg intelligence that is going to bust his butt, I'll take the latter."
Yes talent is required....but desire and "want to" is essential.
Hunger is what you need to be successful in the trenches. Doesn't matter how talented the guy is across from you... if you blow up and 'punch him in the mouth', you will win 9 out of 10 times.
Hunger is what makes a 3 star into a 5 star. There are very few players who have 'natural born' talent... most have to work at it and develop it. Chris Brown has the size and the speed to be SEC type of talent, and if he has the hunger to develop that, the sky is the limit.
Coaching only takes player so far... sooner or later it always gets down to the players heart and desire.

Best thing I have heard in a month..Nix is right...many players are only here as a way to get to the NFL..Weiss attitude that he recruited on and promoted...we need players who are openly mad when we lose..some thing I have not seen in awhile..good for Nix
Borghi, good point and the facebook status (or Twitter, I can't recall) of Tuitt before the bowl game comes to mind, yes?
