I would think that the morning practices prior to the Navy game have more to do with the team getting accustomed to performing at that time of day.

That would be a sound, logical assertion. You just wonder if they do it once classes already start, will it continue into the season? I have my doubts because Tuesday and Wednesday are the two most important days of preparation, with hitting also involved.

With Navy, though, you can maybe taper off the last week because you've had all of August already to practice.

Right time, wrong station. It's on CBS because it's technically not a Notre Dame home game. It's a Navy home game, even though it is on Irish turf.

What time is practice today?

I've seen some interesting stuff on morning practices limiting the number of off-field discipline issues. The thought being that everyone goes to bed earlier and gets into less trouble.
