Twelve of the 77 nominees on the 2013 College Football Hall of Fame ballot were selected, but none of the three Notre Dame candidates.
ND has a pretty impressive list - hard to see how none of them got voted in but then I'm very bias. Maybe one of the Hall judges is from Texas still holding a grudge on how Golic had Campbells number in the '77 Cotton Bowl:) How many times can they be considered for the Hall - I'm thinking about Kunz & Crable.
Don't believe there is a time limit other than the "50 year" rule which simply states a player had to play his last year in college within the last 50 years. Strange rule but guess it does provide a limit.
There is an FBS Veterans Committee for players who have been bypassed 50 years after their college career ended,
This year, for example, the Hall of Fame's FBS Veterans Committee inducted former Kentucky end Steve Meilinger, who was an All-American for Bear Bryant from 1951-53 while he served at Kentucky before moving to Texas A&M and then finally Alabama. Meilinger played running back, quarterback, linebacker, defensive back and punter.
To give you an idea of how difficult it is to get in, take a look at some of the candidates who didn't make this year's cut.
The class of 2013 for the College Football Hall of Fame has been announced, and it's loaded. But who else could have or should have made it and didn't?
The rocket snub is garbage, uncalled for.
The snubbing of Rocket started with his runnerup status for the Heisman to that little QB from BYU.
Kind of makes the whole thing a joke. Not just our guys but the cbs list as well
Rocket has to get in at some point, i would think anyway.
Two time Poster of The Week, 2011 and 2013.
It's garbage, but I think it has something to to with professional football. I noticed great stars on other teams, that didn't do well in the pros didn't make it either.
