Smart move. I think this says something positive about JC and
his feelings about ND.
Wonder if he's working out with Longo.
I'll be curious to see what Carolina does with their pick as there really is no clearcut 1 this year. Lots of stud d linemen and the OTs are projected in the 8 to 12 range. I wouldn't take Fairley after watching his cheap shots in the NC game. I think because of this the value of the #1 overall will be lessened this year and they will have a hard time trading it
POTW - Last year and 2/20/11
If I were Carolina I would take the best 8:42:57 PM available (which would mean trade down) to protect the QB. Whether that is Clausen or someone else remains to be seen.

No matter what anyone thinks about JC, his determination to obtain his degree should be applauded. It's great to see JC come back to finish, and hopefully, he can be an inspiration for some of the other athletes who leave early to come back and finish what they started. Way to go Jimmy and good luck this semester.

It's gonna be a LOOOOONNNNGG off-season....
I agree...what? Are we gonna get mad at Kyle Rudolph too? For taking advantage of being the best TE available this year and getting himself some financial stability?
I don't fault these guys for leaving early at all...And I'm absolutely thrilled to hear that Jimmy came back to finish his degree. He wasn't my favorite ND player, heck he's not even in my top 25, but I am absolutely thrilled that he's come back for the degree.

He's probably not in my top 25, either, but I was impressed to see him in the stands at the basketball game the other night. If nothing else, that's good PR for the football program in selling something to parents, as in, "this is what happens at ND: even millionaire ex-players who leave early come back and spend time on campus (in the dead of winter) to get their degrees."
I may not be pretty, but I'm fast.....

Couldn't agree with Pimpi and Ham, more. Once you're Irish, you're always Irish. I'm happy to see the kid come back and get his degree completed. He clearly loves this place.
I can't blame him at all for not coming back for his senior year. He was projected as a first round draft choice and coming back would have meant changing coaches and systems. He actually did the program's development a favor by leaving and allowing BK to develop other quarterbacks in his system.
My luck with the Irish: 2-4, 3-time POTW
Not a big Clausen fan here. Really respect his choice to enroll and finish school and be able to walk with his class. You never really know but with what the NFL has planned he may have time for a masters. Lol. Best of luck Jimmy
Good for Jimmy!
