Glad you posted this. I was thinking the same thing. The team deserves all the sh!t they're getting on this board and elsewhere, but KLM and Floyd both came to play and deserve mention.
I thought he wore down near the end, and was wondering throughout where are the young guys? Where are the fast, young legs that cannot only chase but catch Denard Robinson. I definitely thought we subbed way less on defense in this game, and it may have contributed to 28 point 4th quarter?
I was saying the same thing about fresh defensive legs in the middle of the 3rd. I do give KLM tons of credit for his efforts yesterday...there are 2 very significant plays, though, that stand out:
1) Even a 300 lb defensive end laying on the ground needs to be able to quickly yank a 180 lb quarterback to the ground.
2) the play where he was flagged for roughing...he was held so badly his jersey was torn. If he doesn't hit robinson, he probably gets the whole play called back.
The loss is not his fault by any means...he just happened to be the only DL involved in the backfield on two pivotol plays.
The man was being held all night too. Did you see his jersey in the 4th, totally ripped from being held. Did not recall one holding call on them all night.
