McMullen eyes another ND visit

Thanks for the welcome. Sorry it took this news to get me over here. wink_msu

Are you all pretty much in agreement that McMullen would have a place in the class? Seems like he'd be a damn tough talent to turn away, but I do see the discussion about Schutt.

Hadn't thought of him playing at OLB, personally. Interesting thought.

Good, respectful, intelligent posters from other teams/sites are always welcome here for good football discussion. Personally, I believe that ND would find a place for him. I personally think he will eventually grow into a DE but to start him out a OLB is great too. I just believe you win games from the inside out. I would take a class full of "trench monsters" over a bunch of skill guys any day, but that is just me.

I'm left no choice. When the fish are in the barrel, you have to shoot.

You have to realize that if you shoot into a barrel of fish , you put a hole in the barrel, all the water leaks out and all the fish die and that is no help to anyone

If we can land him, I absolutely hope we accept his commitment. Landing him would give us flexibility with Jarron Jones as to whether he plays OT or DE/DT.

That would be the interesting part.. We have Day. We have Jones. We are very in the running for Armstead. At OLB, we have Okwara and I think are in a very good spot to get a commitment from Odenigbo.. I'm not sure. We shall see.. Very few spots left. A whole lot of talent left. It's looking more and more like Cave, Slaughter, and KLM will be the only 5th-year players retained and we are gonna load up on one heckuva class. 'Professional' site ratings be damned, we are gonna be a terror in 2012 if we get half the great players we are still in the top 3 for.. K. Marshall, Thompson, Treggs, Armstead, Odenigbo, McNamara, Kiel, B. Marshall, Theus, Peat, Ayoola, Stanley, now McMullen.. I don't know.. It's going to be a heckuva ride my dudes..

Sorry to bump this a whole day later - Just never made it back over.

I can't help but think he's going to out grow the OLB spot pretty quick, given his current size.

If you're thin at DL, that's a definite advantage over us. Nebraska is very, very deep on the defensive line right now. We're losing a lot of talent with the graduation of Crick, but there are a lot of bodies behind him.
