Notre Dame took down No. 15 Marquette in decisive fashion Saturday, winning its fourth straight Big East game.

  • Wes, excellent article. Love how this team is developing and progressing. Brey has improved as a coach seemingly each year.He is doing a masterful job.

I will be there on the 8th. By the way, Morgantown is in WEST Virginia. We broke lose from Virginia almost 150 yrs ago! I know it was only a typo and I am just bustin your chops! But I'm a proud West Virginian!

  • Brey has done an outstanding job with this young team.
They don't even slightly resemble the team that started the season. Today, they took a giant leap forward showing that they can "burn" when they need to, but also run the court when the opportunity presents itself. They are a dangerous team that can upset any opponet. Kudos to Mike!

They are the only team in the Nation, besides Ohio State, that has beaten 5 ranked opponets! They had better be ranked come Monday!!

  • Wes - was able to see this game before CBS bounced it due to ND's 20 pt lead. What's impressive(one of a # of things) was their collective hussle, tenacity on the boards - they just kept 'pushing' against a very good Marquette team. It would be great to have both the mens/womens bball teams in the finals - WOW - talk about an early Christmas!! LOL!! GO IRISH!!

Gotta love Cooley's inside work - big fella gets it done!! GO IRISH!!

You have every right to bust my chops for that. I've only been to Morgantown 100 times, have friends who live there, etc. Sometimes the brain just doesn't cooperate.

  • Back in December after the Irish lost Abro for the season and got waxed by Missouri and Gonzaga I posted on this site that they would be lucky to make the NIT. It is with pleasure that I eat my crow medium rare. I love this teams intensity. In closing I want to suggest to Coach Kelly that he make it mandatory that the football team attend the men and womens basketball games so that they can learn how to compete for the whole game and not collapse at the first sign of adversity.Go Irish.

fraze - you're not alone in your early season evaluation - I felt much the same way after Abro was out for the season. I like my 'crow' well done, if you don't mind:)) It's really exciting to see this team come to 'age' - their confidence is contagious - bet the whole campus is buzzing about this team. Of course, the ND ladys are just blowing the wheels off in high gear!! Oh yea let's not forget the hockey team. ND sports is doing rather well - we don't have to eat 'crow' about that!! GO IRISH!!

  • What I love about this team is that it just keeps getting better. That was a very athletic Marq team, and they didn't get intimidated. Kept it together and kept working.

  • Agree with all comments, above, including the platter of crow. Sometimes you can tell what's going on just by studying the looks on player's faces. Yesterday, one team had the look of a confident winner, and the other team looked like they wanted to be some place else. What Brey has done so very well with this team, and the group that preceded it, is to foster chemistry. In the beginning of the season, Scott Martin looked like he was lost on the floor. Now, he's found his role as a complementary player. In fact, they all seem to have settled into their roles. This is clearly a case of the whole being greater than the sum of the parts.
