Senior scorer Sean Rogers gets Notre Dame on the board first. He scores with a little more than 13 mintues left in the first quarter on a feed from sophomore Jim Marlatt.

Notre Dame isn't known for its offense. The Irish have the No. 1 ranked defense in the country, but they are giving themselves a really nice cushion early. Freshman Conor Doyle just scored his first of the game to stretch the lead to 3-0.

Brandon Mangan makes it 4-2 with a big goal. Yale is having trouble setting their defense early but a few quick goals has them back in the game.

Both teams add a goal in the first five minutes of the second quarter. Yale's been piling up double digit goals in the postseason thus far and you can see why with the way senior Matt Gibson distributes. He picked up his second assist on Yale's second quarter goal.

7-4 now as junior Ryan Foley becomes the fifth different Irish player to score. about 11 minutes to go in the third quarter.

Working with a two-man advantage after a pair of Yale penalties, Marlatt got his second goal of the game. Notre Dame has some breathing room now with a 9-4 lead.

Nice way for to Nick Beattie, Notre Dame's captain, to get back in the action with a late goal here. Beattie missed much of the season after going down with an injury against Duke in February. ... A minute later Marlatt picks up his second career hat trick to make it 12-6 with 5:15 to go.
