So looking forward to someone with game changing speed in the backfield. I was excited when Armando Allen was recruited, reported 4.3 or 4.4. guy but his speed was never evident to me on the field.

Same thing with Cierre Wood, I thought he was the guy, but again he doesn't appear to have that break away on every carry potential. Not to make light of the fact that he did have 1,000+ yards, he is very good. But having a guy on the field that can house it on every carry, like a Reggie Brooks, Vegas Feruson, Allen Pinkett etc would be very welcome to this fan. Not only that, Cierre was at his best with a capable stable mate, like Jonas Gray

They dont know what a phone booth is Lou. I learned this after about a 1000 explanations to kids trying to get them to shoot a basketball with more arc saying "pretend like you are throwing it out of a phone booth". Blank stares.

These two quotes really put a smile on my face - George says "But 40s don't really mean much if you can't put it on the field" and Tony notes "Run fast and score - that's his role" - as the saying goes 'SPEED KILLS':)) It's hard to keep expectations in check - isn't it? GO IRISH!!

GA3 looked a bit more decisive and natural in the few practice highlights I've seen. Would be a very pleasant surprise if he made a big leap forward this year, after getting limited touches last year on offense.

A big part of the speed game is executing blocks. I'm a Titans fan also (born in Houston and followed the Oilers to Nashville) and Chris Johnson had big issues in 2011. It had NOTHING to do with his speed and everything to do with effort and sealing the backside. You all would be shocked and how many 70+ yard runs have come from guys that can't run under 4.8 in the 40. Cierre Wood is plenty fast enough to run away from the defense. But when the opposition has an angle from not being touched, he is going to catch up to the runner.

Execution, effort and a little speed go a LONG WAY!! The first two more important than the third if you watched any of the Titans games from 2011-2012.
