A look at some data, turning point and other factors in No. 1 Notre Dame’s 42-14 loss to Alabama that earned the Crimson Tide the national title.
The difference in not winning title might be as simple as Baylor beating Kansas State, or Ohio State being on probation. You'd have to think playing an unbeaten Wildcat or Buckeye team would have been a better matchup for us.
Much like not having to play Miami again to win the title in 1988, like we would have to today, we just needed one more star to align.

My luck w/the Irish 20-6...GO IRISH!!!
Thank Lou and simm. I'm hurt, but I feel about Notre Dame, the way Whitney sang about Kevin Costner, and Dolly about Portner Wagoner.

1. Solutions to redshirt/greyshirting? I'll wait on a suggestion from anyone
2. Depth chart issues will it ever equal out? Everytime our standouts become leaders its time for them to graduate ie Tuck Quinn Samardgia Teo etc etc etc..... or theyre heading to the nfl ie Clausen Tate so on and so forth.
I'll be here waiting loyal and true forever!!!
God bless u all be it Irish or Bamas at the end of the day its just a game.

I know you are feeling really down right now, as are all of us. However, I think I speak for everyone who subscribes to Blue & Gold when I say that you brighten all our lives on a year-round basis. Your insights and peerless writing make every morning more enjoyable. Thanks for lifting us up and telling it like it is.
same her Lou
Lou, you mentioned that 35 points was the biggest lead in a BCS game. However, in the 2005 game, USC beat Oklahoma 55-19.
I stated it wrong. The 35-0 deficit was the largest SHUTOUT LEAD at any point in a BCS national title game. My apologies, and thanks for bringing it up.
Thank your kind words. It's I who should be thanking you for your support. I'm justing doing a job. You make it possible for me to do it.
