Nude beaches, special teams performances, offensive line shortage and another play on 24 years are featured today.
The offensive line situation causes me great concern. With how physical this game is going to be the guys upfront are going to take a pounding. I am sure they will also do some pounding on 'Bama as they have on others all year.
You mentioned season ending surgeries for Nichols and Stanley as opposed to career ending. I hope that is the case that neither injury is career ending.
Did Martin and/or Hanratty get many minutes this season? I know thaty did not start as we were 60/60 with our starters, but did they get any substantial game time experience?
I like the "all business" approach. I pray our guys keep an eye on their watches / phone clocks and remember Coach Kelly said be home by 11pm. Nothing good is going to happen after 11pm.
The backup O-linmen played primarily in the fourth quarter during the three blowouts, 50-10 versus Navy, 41-3 versus Miami and 38-0 against Wake Forest. They were not rotated into action like a receiver or running back might be because continuity is so essential for that position group.
The Hegarty injury sounded pretty cryptic back in November, but Brian Kelly did say he's anticipating his return this spring. We'll have to way and see on that one. Nichols has had a long litany of injuries during his career here, so we'll have to wait and see there too. I have heard nothing in the way of Stanley's football career being jeopardized. Injuries happen all the time in football.
