  • I honestly think it is a ten. Stanford and Notre Dame are the two best tight end recieving corps in the nation next year. I think both are tens and the talent potential of Notre Dames tight ends I think are better than Stanfords. I am really excited to see our offense this year. With four tight ends with great talent that could really reduce the pressure on the wideouts. Not too mention our loaded backfield. We are top five in the backfield and tight ends in the country in my opinion. I think we show that this year. Offensive line could be a top five unit also if what we saw in the spring game carries true throughout the year.

  • dansch20,

I think Eifert would have to be a 10, but I couldn't quite pull the trigger on giving the entire unit that score because it's not quite as proven like in 2005 with a starter like Anthony Fasano and a junior like John Carlson who was ready for prime time, or 1991 with a couple of future 1st-round picks in senior Derek Brown and junior Irv Smith. Koyack, Welch or Niklas might be ready to take on such duties, but I'll err on the side of caution.

I generally set a bar on what was (or perceived to be) a past "10" and try to go from there.

Very fair points Lou. Eifert is a "10" but you have to look at the unit as a whole and with unproven commodities in Koyack, Welch, and Niklas it's best to temper things a bit.

  • 9.5 Koyack and Welch had a great spring and Eifert is just a beast by far the best TE in the country i mean its not even a question.

Yea I see it now Lou. Koyack and welch and Niklas have not really had too many chances to prove theirself yet. I agree.

Healthy ND TE corps is as good as any in the country, provided they are used like we all seem to think that they will this fall.
