Note on Davonte Neal re: Facebook page

  • I've received quite a few inquiries today asking about Notre Dame WR signee Davonte Neal's Facebook page because apparently it says that he'll be getting his education at the University of Arkansas.

    His father, Luke Neal, on the matter:

    "He doesn't have a Facebook."

    That is all.

  • Luke Neal said things were going around last week on Twitter about his kid going to Arizona instead and sitting out a year, which isn't true. He noted that the fake account doesn't have Davonte's birthday right.

    For what it is worth, I saw that on the "Davonte Neal" FB page months ago before he signed his LOI. It is old news. That FB user also joined an ND FB fan group.

  • What's sad to me is that any person has enough free time on their hands to sit and make a facebook page claiming to represent a high school student. Even if the person behind the fake page is just another high school student... seriously, go get a job or join a club or something.
