  • We missed on Standifer. ND did not except his online Spanish class. He just tweeted this. Unbelievable. Thats all I can say. All of this over a damn spanish credit.

  • Once again. Taking the easy way out. He did not want to put out any effort to try and get into ND. Once ND told him that he needed to take the Spanish class, he bolted.

  • Well the surprise (Rios) didnt work out. Standifier is out cause of this. And now we have 3 open spots with no names out there. Doesnt this suck. Looks like thats a wrap on our class this year. Only pipe dream recruits like Neal and Darby left.

    That is a load of crap. Notre Dame would not except the Spanish class. He didnt bolt anywhere. Notre Dame wouldnt accept him.

  • What is the Admissions Depts.'s problem!? One stupid Spanish credit that he could fulfill online or that he can take while AT ND...This is ridiculous. Kid was dead-set on ND and those are the types of players we want here...the player who's heart is blue and gold through and through...this is just SAD

    We didnt ever get our in home with Darby so I wouldnt count on him either. He is gone. Neal is really the only possibility left. As much as I would love for Poole to flip I am not seeing it. I hope I am wrong but it looks like we held out for some big name guys and we got burned on all of them. Just a crappy weekend for ND recruiting.

  • I was frustrated with the news at first too... but then I began considering the possibilities - what if ND needed a way out in case they had to make room for someone else?

    Maybe they intentionally delayed the process, and when they got news from another player, they played the "Spanish credit" card?

  • As a teacher who ran our school's online credit recovery program, let me just say that there are some online programs that, while they put their best foot forward, are inadequate. Kids can finish some of these in about 25-30 hours. That's not education.

    I think it's great that ND doesn't blankly accept all online credits, as they seem to evaluate the company behind credit recovery process.

    We can't have it both ways. We can't hold up ND as an example of how it should be done and then allow certain corners to be cut.

  • This is on the staff, they slow played both Rios and Standifer and it bit them. Had the staff not waited until January to start re-recruiting Standifer they could of made sure he enrolled in a spanish 2 class for his final high school semester.

  • This is getting is getting ridiculous. The Armstead paperwork and now this. These things will kill a recruiting class. I understand they want the credits to be legit but a foreign language? Most degrees require a foreign language or a sequence of two in the first two years of college anyway. I guess I am just frustrated and venting lol. I hope we have something up our sleeve. We desperately need anothe CB.
