I didn't see Shurburtt say that Elmer is too high. I did see the comparison to Montelus, however, which I took as the new Irish commit being a Top100 candidate with Elmer just outside of that group.
In the end, I feel both have a good chance of being up there. Even if you have all five OL in the Top247 that's still saying something -- there are 1.2 million high school football players in the country. I'd be rather pleased as a recruit if I was in a group that was less than a .25 of a percent of the top players in the nation. Less than 4.2 percent of high school football players even get a scholarship to play FBS football.

no - i didnt go or even see it on TV. We had a baseball doubleheader in cold (but scenic) NW Michigan with #2 son - so my wife and her sisters decided to go down and see all the things they been hearing about, catch a mass and buy out the book store. Sounds like they took some pretty cool pics in the Gug - the girls all lined up in football stances on the turf next to the weight room....sounds like they had a trip of a lifetime - which is how I feel every time I go too!
While it sucks you couldn't go, glad to see the family enjoyed the trip. Look on the bright side, at least they (probably) brought you back a t-shirt!
