Eye on Football - Report: owners, NFLPA agree on rookie wage scale

excellent. It has seemed odd that players that have proven nothing often make more than those that have.
Having a rookie wage scale should allow teams to more value veterans that are proven and that make the game better today.
Again potential is not real and should be compensate for the real results that veteran players have shown.
An example for me is one of my favorite ND players, Brady Quinn. As much as l like the young man he should not have gotten $20mil for never succeeding.
While I wish I could have gotten his deal and am happy for him it is not good for the sport, the team and the many players that don't get paid as much for actually producing and being successful, or that get cut to make room for his salary.

Good. If only baseball followed this model too.
The average salary for a MLB rookie is a great deal lower than the NFL or NBA . I believe MLB is the only real American sport left you can still use your money and build a team . You do not guarante the players a certain amount of your payroll, parity is not the American way . I also think NFLPA should be fighting for guaranted contracts . Instead of these long term not guaranted contracts for the big up front money .
