Urban supposedly tweeted the ban to his players

It would certainly make his job easier at times.

I understand the arguments for both sides - I would institute a policy of getting rid of twitter during the season and during spring/fall practice to eliminate any sort of distractions.

It's not a matter of trying to take something away, but rather preventing issues and distractions from arising, even when the kids don't mean to (see Cierre Wood's tweet last night about mobile qbs - not his fault, but then pounced on by followers who read every single word these kids write).

Lol.....this guy cracks me up....he let players who shot an assult rifles in an apartment complex and another player who tried to gouge an opponents eyes out play football with lityle or no punishment but he outlaws twitter.....this guy is a joke!

EVery moment spent tweeting is a moment they could and should be reading the playbook, or having it read to them (snide comment). I actually think he has a point. Draconian, yes, but he has a point. Sure as heck keeps it in the locker room and builds and "us/them" mentality from the get-go.

I'm actually interested in the attrition numbers once Meyer institutes his workouts, his way, and see how many hit the highway.

merlin isn't going to like this if Kelly institutes this rule. How in the world will we ever know which players aren't content with the state of the team and want to demand change from Brian Kelly?

I don't know. Dogging a bunch of kids on Twitter seems pretty lame. Isn't there anything on TV?

Hmmm whatever happened to freedom of speech. Can he really tell them they aren't free to communicate with others. If he says they may suffer consequences for ill advised tweets so be it.
