Rockne's Roundtable

Good. Read an article saying he thought about commiting to Florida after he visited, but he rethought it.

I don't know as much about recruits as many on this board, but at WR, I really like Devon Allen.

Scouts say he is a really good WR, great hands, can get deep, etc.

I like his high school track times: 100m, 10.48; 200m, 20.75 (Yikes!) This is one fast kid.

But check out his 110 HH time: 13.52. That is really impressive. I am impressed because of the toughness it takes to learn to hurdle: first, you fall a lot, not really fall, crash, face plant on the track, stuff like that. And if you become a great hurdler, that means you got up and attacked the damn things again. And even when you don't crash, you hit hurdles and have to be tough enough and athletic enough to keep going, in three steps so you can make the next hurdles. And when things are starting to go pretty well, then you catch the ball on your trail ankle on the hurdle because you did not keep it high enough. It hurts like hell.

So here is a kid who could have been a star in the sprints and instead he became world class in the hurdles. Without having met him (an obvious limitation in this discussion) I suspect he is a stud.

And he is graduating from a Jesuit high school.

I think I read that he and his dad are visiting soon. Come on Devon and Dad! Ya gotta love ND.

How tall is he?

UF seems to be the favorite and with him saying that he isn't visiting again this summer it's looking less likely we land him. That would likely leave his official visit to knock his socks off. I've also been told he has a child and that might keep him closer to GA.
