Rockne's Roundtable

Well, this past week was probably the height of the summer doldrums. With players now back on campus, news and discussion should pick up leading into fall camp. Luckily, Lou provided us with a series of articles which generated a decent amount of discussion. I thought there were a couple of standout posts from this series.

I really enjoyed WEAREND76's reply on the Part I (coaching) of the ND Vital Signs series. It was a very well researched and articulated point in what is probably the second biggest debate amongst ND fans. Speaking of debate, no topic generates more passion than the QB race, which happened to be the focus of Lou's second article in the ND Vital Signs series. I appreciated 19BlueAndGold85's perspective in this thread.

Not specifically football related, however very relevant to ND football (IMO), was the thread started by merlin08. I think it's easy for us to forget that these are kids sometimes, and I think fans sometimes cross the line in their interactions with players (not all the time, but it definitely happens). Sometimes we don't realize that we can cause more harm than good for our teams and players.

However, for me, the clear POTW was hemy. His responses to each of the ND Vital Signs series were simply sublime. His perspective was well established and frankly refreshing to read. So, congrats to hemy: a well deserved POTW.
