Montero came into spring training as the expected starter for 2011 and quickly played himself back into AAA. There were serious questions about his work ethic in camp.
The Yankee success since 1996 has been due in no small part to an array of switch hitters who make it difficult to work through that lineup. A contributing Posada makes the whole team better. Let this blow over.
Jeter is the bigger concern.

Xman,
I'm going to stick with my original premise. Martin was brought in as an insurance policy for Montero and they had to cash it in right away. If Montero had a good spring he would have started and Martin would have been the backup. Cervelli would have been the odd man out. No way Posada was catching agian in any scenario.
