Isn't that the same stance he had entering spring ball last year relative to the QBs?

It's like the public school system in Detroit... if not enough people pass, make the test easier. Too bad this won't work when we get to the season. First loss and people will complain that the offense isn't fast paced enough or QB1 isn't making the right reads.

This is a genius idea for Kelly. This will show how much more of a playmaker Everrett Golson and Andrew Hendrix are in this offense. Gunner Kiel may need a little time to adapt but he will be good in thisalso. I think by Kelly doing this it will expose a quaterback who does not have a general knack to extend and make plays. Great idea and Coaching.

How else can you have any kind of a fair competition.
Otherwise, Rees allways wins out because he has started 16 games already in BK's system. Or at least a system that distantly resembles what BK wants to run.

I actually like the sound of this. Dan - did Cam McDaniel ever play corner, or on the D side of the ball, at all in high school??

BK is NOT dumbing down the QB trials only making it fair and equitable for all concerned. TR has a solid mental lock on the game plan but is limited in its execution. The others are limited in on field experience and the mental aspect of the game (that only comes with actual playing time). So, limiting the focus of the offense to key elements allows all to compete on a somewhat fair footing. If one truly shines, BK will gradually increase the core knowledge throughout the preseason. If he hadn't done this, no way anyone unseats TR. He simply has too much experience.

While I wish only the best of TR (you guys are too hard on him. He's a true soph who was thrust into the spotlight and earned his starting position last year), He has reached the limit of his potential and it's simply not enough of the complete package to keep the starting spot. Here's hoping one of the others seizes the moment.
