Post-practice with Brian Kelly:

-- The reps have been pretty equal at QB. Close to 50-50 with Golson and Hendrix. Obviously a little bit less with Kiel. Script out 10 plays, so whoever didn't get that play gets it in the next rotation.

is prestwood expected back?

-- Threw a lot at the freshmen WRs (Chris Brown, Justin Ferguson and Davonte Neal) because not afraid to put them out there, not afraid to play and could earn time in their first seasons. All three are very confident in themselves, so will keep getting worked into the first group.

To clarify on Prestwood ... no longer with the team.

-- Will wait until game time against Navy to decide if the offense will use both Hendrix and Golson. But would prefer to use one QB.

-- Troy Niklas is a big, physical kid that is learning every day. He'll be counted on to get things done at the TE position.

-- Elijah Shumate has been moved over to cornerback.

-- Louis Nix and Kona Schwenke both have to share playing time. They're so close. The Irish coaches are pleased with Nix's consistency, but they're both going to play a ton of football. It doesn't matter which one is getting first-team reps.

-- Early indication on Spond is that he could've suffered a concussion.
