Former Notre Dame fullback Asaph Schwapp (2005-08) died from cancer on Tuesday.
Good Lord. That is too young
tragic news, way to young. RIP, my thoughts and prayers go out.
Two time Poster of The Week, 2011 and 2013.
So sad, such a short life for such a fine young man. Although his life was short he lived it the way we all should.

Wow, life is crazy. Schwapp was the epitome (figuratively and literally) of strength. Look at that photo, to think he would be deceased in a few short years, lets you know how precious life is, and how quickly it can be taken away. I will hug my kids and wife a little tighter this evening.
God Bless the Schwapp family.

There has not been another player on a Notre Dame roster that I was harder on than Asaph Schwapp. He is one of the few players I called out by name on these boards in years past. And now I am ridiculously happy that Schwapp got to play as much as he did back then, regardless of any on-field struggles. By all accounts, Ace was a beloved member of the team and a 5-star person that only enriched the lives of people he came into contact with. I'm sorry for anything negative I ever said about him as a fullback, and only wish I had gotten to meet him in person. I wish his family all the best as they get through this difficult time. #CancerSucks
3 time POTW;
One of only 3 athletes to play a sport a Notre Dame from Hartford...A friend, one of the most uplifting people I've ever known, made those around him better. Overcame incredible odds to get to Notre Dame, yet, he never comlained...He's with his mom now in Heaven...God Bless his family and other friends!
May the angels lead Asap into paradise. May the martyrs come to welcome him and take him to the holy city, the new and eternal Jerusalem.

Just lost one of my best friends in the world and the kindest person I know. Never did he not make me smile and laugh when I was with him, and that's saying a lot because I lived with him for a year. The odds he overcame to get to where he was is unbelievable. He didn't deserve to go this way.
RIP Ace I love you bro.
RIP my friend. This is so sad. May Our Lady protect him for all time. So sad.
2 time POTW winner on some dates I can't remember from 2yrs ago at BNG,
