Recruits on our radar

  • I have been an I Irish fan for 35+ years, that’s the main reason I become a member of B&G. After religiously following the last two recruiting cycles, I have a question for all of you that obviously have way more knowledge about recruiting than I do!! I read almost every day about recruits that have offers from some of the biggest schools, and they state that they would really like to hear from ND!! So my questions are, why or how are we not getting involved earlier? Would getting involved earlier help us land Alabama type classes, or does winning big every year take care of that?

  • We ARE getting involved earlier. I cant state with pinpoint accuracy here, but Sometime after Davie(maybe even Ty) the university allowed us to offer recruits earlier in the process(Holtz had a BIG problem with this with Admin and asked for it for awhile). Weis got in the first Early Enrollees also. So, we are even steven regarding the level playing field with the others.

    Yes, the prevailing opinion is that we arent winning enough. Kids want to play for a championship at one or more points in their 4 years. Most feel that others can offer a mildly or moderately bigger chance at that than we can. But if we flip a switch or two next year, that would certainly make a big difference for 2013.
