Guys, the reason why it may not be a step down is that Charlie Molnar does not have the strongest background even for his present position.

Molnar was in the right place at the right time when Jeff Quinn was named HC at Buffalo, and he stepped up to Offensive Coordinator when Brian Kelly moved to ND.

Prior to last season, Molnar was an OC at Indiana State in 2005, at Kent State, from 1994-2000 (was also QB coach, and wide receiver coach, and OC all at the same time, and the program managed only 11 wins in 11 years including the time Molnar was there), and at Illinois State for three years from 1990-1993.

I thought Molnar did not exactly have a stellar resume to be the OC at ND, but with BK as the functioning OC, it helped to cover any deficiencies.

Don't want to trash anyone on the way out. But it just may be the case.

Still wish Molnar the best, and hope he makes us proud that he was once associated with ND.
