Rudolph Reflects On Rookie Year

Former Notre Dame star TE Kyle Rudolph, who was named Minnesota Vikings Rookie of the Year and as an All-Rookie Team selection, reflects on first NFL season.

  • Very enjoyable read. Liked the last part about how Kyle is handling his new-found financial success, and how he helped his parents.
    Good kid.
    Wish him the best.

  • Thanks, guys. Rudolph was always one of my favorite interviews. I appreciate him always picking up the phone and keeping in touch. There will be more to come concerning his conversations with Tyler Eifert while the senior-to-be TE was deciding whether or not to return in 2012.

  • Great read, i think he will develop into a great te in the nfl.

  • Kyle Rudoph: Now THERE's a RKG.

What a great young man, and what a great son! How many young players would make one of their first big checks out to their parents as a thank you?

Can't wait to see him flourish in the NFL.

    Proud to call him Irish.

    That sounds really interesting, Wes.

  • hmmmmm I went into debt supporting him also.....has he priced ND tickets, parking, and tailgating expenses lately? I wonder when my check will be in the mail....

enough silliness......He is everything I like about ND!

  • I wasn't a big fan of his having left a year early. However, when one sees what he has accomplished and how he has handled his newfound fame and wealth, it does appear that this classy young man was more ready for the real world than I thought.

    Excellent article; thank you!

    Hey Dakota,

I'm not sure if I have noticed you before on here!? I went to college and played football at Dickinson State for the legendary Hank Biesiot. My older brother wrestled in college and went to UND when Kleinsasser was there.

He did not finish school, but plans to still get his degree. We didn't get into it much, but I would imagine he had enough on his plate being a rookie in the NFL. But he has told me several times that he has every intention of going back to school when he can squeeze in the remaining classes.
