Should Kelly allow Kiel to stay for spring practice ?

If you were Kelly, would you want Kiel at spring practice, knowing that he is serious about transferring ? Even if he wins #2, with Golson having three more years, Kiel might transfer after spring practice anyway. He would then have taken taken many reps away from the other qb's, and wasted important practice time.
At first, I wanted Kiel to change his mind and wait until after spring practice. Then, after analyzing the possibilities above, I think that Kelly should tell Kiel to leave even if he were to change his mind about staying until after spring practice.
What are your feeling about allowing Kiel to stay through spring practice if he were to decide that he wanted to do so ?

There is a difference between treating his decision with respect and allowing him to remain part of the team. I would do the former and not the latter. Kiel has chosen of his own volition to not be part of the football program, therefore I would not allow him to participate in anything team related. He is now a student at the University, but not a Notre Dame Football player. Period. No practice, no access to any facilities or services that a normal student would not have access to. He made his decision, and that is just fine. Wish him well, but don't spend time providing to him any longer.

Kiel never came out public with his decision.
You let him stay onlyand practice if their is a chance he stays if he does well.
