Skip Holtz Gets 3-Year Extension

  • Nothing against Skip, and more power to him, but this is the reason why contract extension news is os worthless to me. It's all about generating positive publicity for the school. You go 5-7 in your second year, finish second to last in the Big East ... but hey, let's let the recruits know that Skip will be around for them.

    If Skip goes 11-1 next year wins the Big East, wins a BCS and suddenly a a contending BCS school came calling, it's time for the next step. If he continues to go 5-7 and be in the bottom of the Big East, heads will roll.

    Otherwise, Charlie Weis would be starting his eighth season at ND now with four more seasons awaiting.
