Talk Defense

  • With the QB position dominating the board I think we should talk so defense!

A few things to start it off... I thought Ishaq was noticeably in better shape, and moved much better. Now I realize moving faster goes hand in hand with knowing your assignment. It was nice to see.

I thought our corners played physical (at least more than I thought they would), but not great.

For being a werewolf I thought Grace would've shed blocks better, and Collinsworth has a long way to go.

I like the Dline's two deep depth a lot and it is only April.

P.S. Recived a text message from my Dad after the game: "Go Gunner ND" clover

  • Ishaq looks very promising.

  • Impressed with Day, not impressed with collinsworth and I thought grace was ok. He did not shed blockers well.

  • From the looks of it Barkley and Landry Jones will shred that secondary .... Ishaq made some good plays but also had an unacceptable mistake by not bringing down GA III in the backfield.... Nix seemed missing against the run. But I was impressed with D-line getting their hands up on passes. We need deflections because they can help force turnovers, something this defense desperately needs to do next season. As bad as it was last season with how many turnovers the offense had, it was almost as bad that the defense forced so few. Both units need to improve in turnovers for a successful season... Mcdaniel and Farley seemed to play rather smart for players with such little experience
