Irish rally to pick up key league win at Pitt Monday.
Let's hear it for the raving lunatic! Like our chances in the tournament.
Good win. But better that they don't play again until Sunday. This team needed rest, they looked tired Saturday against Providence. Good win & time for some much needed rest.
Crash the boards 40-25 - that'll keep you in the game! That shows energy and a desire to go get that W - you can't expect every shot to go in BUT you can own the boards until your shot drops. This kind of play would have won the Providence game - this type of effort can win the rest - GO IRISH!
I don't know how they did it after watching the first 15 minutes, but they found a way. A big win.
Two time Poster of The Week, 2011 and 2013.
Give Coach the game ball for the timely technical. It woke us up and gave us the spark we needed. It was the turning point of the game.
My luck w/the Irish 20-6...GO IRISH!!!
Al McGuire (Marquette head coach 1964-77) would have been extremely proud of Brey. He wrote the book on tactical technical fouls and when to pick your spots with refs. Digger Phelps said he learned more about the psychology of the game from McGuire than anyone else.
Great win and glad to see Coach show the emotion he did during the game...timing is everything.
I've been tough on Brey but the outburst was nice to see, and if that "T" turned this game around then I give him all the credit.
Would really like to see our guards get more involved in the first half of games, as they both seem to disappear until the second halves.
Connoughton, despite not shooting well for the last three weeks ( except Louisville), hit two huge shts to sort of get us back in the game, and was a factor on the boards.
Knight and Cooley were steady down low and Pitt got very few easy baskets. In fact I wish Knight would look for his shot a little more often.
A good and gutsy win, but I still think we have to raise the bar a little higher.
