Iowa State was a No. 8 seed last year and lost in the third round to eventual champion Kentucky. The Cyclones were 2-6 this season against teams ranked among the top 25. They lost two overtime games vs. Kansas and to Texas in two overtimes.

ESPN is favoring Iowa State in the mini upset by the lower seed. Seth Greenberg, J Williams and Bilas all leaning to the Cyclones because of they way they spread out teams. 44 percent of their attempts are beyond the three-point line. I think that helps ND because Brey usually has his teams well prepped for those type of teams with his theory of willing to give up twos but not allowing teams to crush you with threes. It can be feast or famine for three-point shooting teams.

Marquette and 3 but especially Oregon at 12 — winner of Pac 12 tourney and twice beating UCLA (6 seed) — were mind-numbing. I know the Pac 12 is considered strong, but come on.

Jack Cooley just said his girlfriend and her family, which is from Iowa, are all big Iowa State fans. He said if he hears any of them cheering for the Cyclones he'll take away their third-round tickets.

As an IU/ND fan living only 50 mins from Dayton I wish I could go watch both play there. Probably can't get a ticket though. Especially with tOSU playing there as well. When will tip times be announced?
