And in the last 3 years, they are 27-11, or averaged 9-4.
Depth is going to be a real issue for them. I am not as high on USC as many others here. You need depth to compete at the highest level. I think this is their best chance for a great year and then they will not win the Pac 10 until after 2015. if then

How easily statistics can be manipulated to make a point!
Lets go back 2 more years! In the last 5 years USC is 50-14 or averaged 10-3 ND is 32-31 or averaged 6-6
My point wasn't wins and losses but how amazing they have been and continue to be in recruiting regardless of what the obstacle.

First off argue all you want but look at the last 10 National Champions and then look at the correlating recruiting rank of the class and it proves that RECRUITING Matters ALOT!! The talent USC gets is undeniably the best nationally.. Period!! Give me a bunch of 5 stars all day long because the odds of them becoming great are considerably better than those that are 4 stars and lower..
We as fans can't get excited about highly ranked recruits and rankings and then say it doesn't matter when other schools have tremendous classes and USC's class right now is Undeniably awesome.

They're in the same position ND's in -- they don't have a coach who's proven he can win consistently at this level of competition. One good year, early on, means nothing -- ask Weis and Willingham. I'll get excited about USC's recruiting when I'm sure Kiffen can do something with them. If not, he's just another Zook.

Some amazing numbers from Scout.com
Since 2002 there have been 3 teams that have had an average star rating greater than 4.00: USC, Miami and UF.
Miami did it once in 2002 with a 4.05. UF did it once in 2007 with a 4.22.
USC has been over that ave. 5 times and this year will make 6! 2004 - 4.00 2005 - 4.25 2006 - 4.17 2007 - 4.39 2010 - 4.15 2013 - currently (4.31) their second best average in 11 years.
(Tulsa and Utah St. both ave. 4.00 in 2002 but only had 1 recruit each. Central Fla. had a 4.50 with 2 recruits that same year.)
