Well, Tommy did not do himself any good today...

  • His best bet was to look like he was now a mature, confident, leader who can lead the team and avoid mistakes. Instead, he did not show that he had improved and looked like the same old Tommy.

I don't know if you feel the same as me about Hendrix. He just doesn't seem to have that innate feel for the game that a good QB needs. He can make a good play, then throw the ball right to the other team. Sometimes, when he runs, he doesn't see where he is going and runs right into a defender.

Kiel has a very good arm, but he is a freshmen and needs a year to get experience.

Golson, obviously has the most innate feel for the game (not counting Kiel at this point )

If we play the talented Golson and Atkinson, I don't see how we can hope to cut down on our turnover rate, but you have to play the talent and hope that talent wins out over inexperience.

Good to see a real scrimmage.

Glad no one got hurt. Whew!

    GA does have that burst.

    Going to be interesting.

  • My two cents:

I didn't see any improvement from TR either... His performance today relegated him to 4th on the depth chart.

Hendrix looks promising, but awfully fidgety. He didn't look relaxed. I'd like to see him play more calmly.

Kiel is definitely going to redshirt this season.

Moving forward, the reps need to be split between Hendrix and Golson in practice. Whoever makes the most of those reps gets/keeps the starting job.

Agreed, but TR 3d on depth chart, based on experience.

Every time TR throws a fade into the end zone, I "see" an interception. If he runs faster, I didn't see it.

Hendrix can throw, but to whom?

Kiel looked like what he is: an early enrollee, essentially lost. He will be good though.

    Golson needs time and experience.

Hendrix/Golson co- #1s at this point.
