  • So many positives from last night. But my favorite most impressive part was the front 7. Watching our linebackers drop into coverage and not only make the quick tackle but bat down passes was great to see. (I think Danny Spond was a huge asset in the pass coverage.) But that front line last night, WOW! To get pressure like that with just the front 4 so consistently was amazing. Sheldon does not play like a true frosh. Tuitt is as dominant as any other dlineman I have seen this short season thus far. Shembo, Kap and Nix great job. Then throw in Kona and Springman and there is depth being created.

I was truly excited watching that front 7 work and dominate the line.

  • There were just so many good things about the game, but, one theme that I kept seeing was that we are watching a roster develop before our eyes. So many players that are putting their mark on ND history. We know about Manti, Eifert, and Cave etc but last night Danny Spond was all over, Shembo had an All-American level game, Russell and Shumate are much better players than they were just 2 weeks ago, Turk and Brzinda are now as advertised when they were recruited, Josh Atkinson made several very good plays, Matthias Farley!! and btw, it's time to get off Dan Fox's case. He has had very good, back to back games. Tony Springman! It really is a credit to the coaching staff that all these guys are performing at a very high level... Oh, yea, the QB is coming along, he has 2 rushing TDs!!!

  • D-line for sure. We had a 6 man rotation without any drop off. Watched it live from 14 rows up and they were fantastic. All I heard all night from Sparty fans was " WOW, this front seven is awesome". All I could do is grin and agree. Loved it.

    Okay, I'll go first.

I liked the fact that with perhaps just one or exceptions, no MSU ball carrier or receiver got more than a few yards in space without being met and wrapped up by multiple Irish defenders. I know MSU doesn't have an elite offense, but I haven't seen an ND defense get to the ball that quick in a long, long time.

Dominating performance on the defensive side of the ball and ZERO turnovers on the other side. Golson will only improve with each game. Tuitt and Day man-handled counterparts. Manti had a stellar evening, but Prince Shembo also came to play.

Good observation about our punting/kicking - making our opponents go 80yds gives our defense a big edge - another poster stated that the average starting point for MSU was the 20yd line WOW! ND had great field position most of the night and when they didn't like the 4th quarter back on our 4yd line - the OLINE steps it up and Woods runs a beaut 26 yarder - GOTTA LOVE IT!There's just a ton of positives to take away from this game - ND was dominant in Sparty's house ALL night long - that's impressive. 3-0 compared to last years 1-2 - FEELIN' FINE! BEAT MICHIGAN - GO IRISH!!

  • I liked the swarming defense and knowing that those jackasses in EL are in the fetal position, sucking their thumbs, and crying for their mommy uncontrollably....too much?
