There are MVPs based on stats, and then there are players you can least afford to lose from your team. Who would you pick as the person on the 2012 Notre Dame team?

A. Manti Te'o — Could be only ND's second first-round pick at LB (Bob Crable the other in 1982) and he serves as the face of the program and the team conscience.

B. Aaron Lynch — Just look at the angst it causes among Irish faithful when he is excused from participating in one spring practice.

C. Tyler Eifert — He might have to be the aircraft carrier on offense, the one defenses game-plan around, thereby hopefully opening up avenues for others.

D. Jamoris Slaughter — He can call the signals on defense at safety, drop down to the front at Star or nickel, and even help maybe the most precarious position on the team, at corner.
