While it's a good question, lets not put the cart before the horse. Manti is one of a kind. You can never replace that type of player. And we are a full year away from Smith even stepping onto the practice field. Smith is an amazing athlete and one hell of a prospect but hasn't proven himself in college yet. I'm confident he will be a main component in many many victories for the Irish as well as a NC. But to try to compare him to Manti is a disservice to both. They each bring something different to the table you cant put a value on. As of right now the best LB for the Irish is Manti because it isn't Smiths time yet. But ask this question in 4-5 years and I'll have a different answer.

This is a stupid thread. They're both amazing players. All that needs to be said.
