Who is your favorite current player and why?

  • I will have to go with Louis Nix. He signed with ND out of left field and went against all the people pushing him towards Miami. He has shown to be a tremendous athlete and he has one of the best personalities on the team. He is driven and isn't afraid to let his team mates know when they are slacking. And he is a total nut when it comes to just having fun and being down to earth.

There are a lot of other players I like on the team for various reasons. But overall my favorite to follow is Big Lou!

I'm not sure I have one favorite, but if I had to list my top 3, Louis Nix would definitely be included.

  • Manti... He did what no other recruit does came to ND because of the school not football. Great young man. Also have to add Tee in there I am impressed by his ability to take a disability and turn it into a strength.

  • I really can't say just one so I'll do the best I can and name my favorite from each class. 5th year: KLM. Senior: Eifert. Junior: Nix. Sophomore: Tuitt. Freshman: Tee

  • All good choices

  • Last year was Jonas Gray, the way he showed character and bounced back from the fumbles. This year, I would say its a tie between Manti and Eifert. Both could have jumped to the NFL, but both showed why football is (AND SHOULD BE SECONDARY). Go Irish!!

  • Manti at LB. Lynuittixmoore(Lynch,Tuitt,Nix,KLM mixed as one DL unit), Slaughter at safety, Jackson at CB1 and Josh Atkinson at CB2

Offense- the lineman as a single unit( no singles), QB everett, RB Woodick(Wood and riddick combined), WR Davaris Daniels(now that he has size he will impact immediately IMO,TE Tyler the beast Eifert(Got the swagger of Shark! Comparison not bc the long hair or being white. He just plays with swagger and reliability like the shark did)

  • It sounds like a cop out, but it is hard to pick just one young man. I have to say 5 b/c the easy thing was to stay on the West Coast. He did what he felt was best for him and I respect that tremendously.

  • Louis Nix! I knew as soon as he signed with us, he was going to be awesome. He's a funny guy who works his butt off and when his time at Notre Dame is done, he'll be a top 10 NFL pick. I have alot of confidence he will be something great soon.

  • Hendrix.

Team player who plays like he means it.

Runs harder than any of the RB's. May be toughest runner among ND QB's since Hornung, with the possible exception of Jarious Jackson.

    He is my top 3.

I'd probably also have to give serious consideration to Toma. I love it when the unheralded guy becomes a contributor.

Please do not forget he commited to ND when ND did not have a coach. Now, Louis is a ND RKG. That's where ND recuiting will be in short order - "The ND Football Wait List". Bet on it.

As a side bar, we had the opportumity to meet the Nix Family just before he headed to fall camp. I lost me right hand for a few seconds when his right hand swallowed mine.
    Wonderful, wonderful family.

  • I won't beat the Manti horse to death, so I'll switch gears and go with Tyler Eifert. Tough, smart player that will be playing on Sundays soon. I think he'll have a big year with EG!!

    ND Q

  • Teo.... it was scary to see what he is capable of in that first half of the FSU game.... I would love to see us be more aggressive like that next year... Teo could destroy QBs if given the chance

  • As a Notre Dame fan Manti stands for so many of the positive things that we want our athletes to not only believe in but live out, and he is doing it. I will always root for him. And he plays with and demands an excellence from himself.

For the underclassman I have to pick Aaron Lynch. This is a young man that picked ND for the right reasons even though he was from the warm weather and a long way away. Despite that he chose the Irish, even sprinkling some of his grandpas ashes there I believe. A hiccup occurred and he briefly committed to fsu, he believed the lies that he was not smart enough for Notre Dame, couldn't hack it. He ultimately came to his senses and rejoined his first love. He not only earned pt as a freshman but excelled in many moments and many big moments he rose to the top. His passion his drive for success was infectious to the team. As he continues to grow in size and knowledge he will dominate.

The biggest reason he is my favorite is that he did not flinch from the academic requirements of Notre Dame. He took them head and on worked hard. And if I am not mistaken he had a 3.0 or higher this past semester. That is what it is about, and congratulations to Mr. Aaron Lynch, I am happy to say he is Irish and proud of him.
